Crime Prevention

Crime and unwanted behaviour happens all across our city on a daily basis. Our local community is not immune to it. We invite all community residents to be diligent, observant, and active in preventing and reporting crime in our neighbourhood.

Edmonton Crime Stats

The Edmonton Police Service has made available crime stats for neighbourhoods right across the city, including York. To see the stats in our area, click here to be directed to the EPS Crime Mapping Site.

Reporting Crime

If you see a crime in progress, please call 911 immediately.

If you wish to report suspicious behaviour or a crime that has already occured, please call the non-emergency line at 780-423-4567.

Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is an active part of our community crime prevention plan. If you are interested in being part of a Neighbourhood Watch Walking Group please contact  steeleheightscommunity@gmail.com We will work with you to set up a time that works for you or connect you with pre-existing groups. League Parking Lot

If you see questionable activities, loitering, or illegal dumping in the league parking lot (especially late in the evening or early morning), you are asked to call the non-emergency police line at 780-423-4567 and report it.

Graffiti

Graffiti, in its many forms, is a crime.

Call 911 if you see graffiti in progress. Call police at 780-423-4567 if your own property has been vandalized.

Call the City of Edmonton at 311 to report graffiti on public or private property that is not your own. Remember to record, report, and remove it.
