A 2010 community survey revealed a strong desire for a water spray park to be built in York neighbourhood. Since that time, even more young families have moved into our neighbourhood. To provide amenities for them and support future growth in our area, a local committee is overseeing the development of a spay park with additional items and we would like your input. The current plan is for the spray park to be built to celebrate our Community League's 50th Anniversary (in 2017) as a gift to the residents.
The Spray Park Committee needs your input on the upcoming Spray Park and surrounding amenities for our neighbourhood. Click on the link below to compete the 2-4 minute survey.
Please forward this link to any family, friends or neighbours in the area that you know. Thanks!
You may have recently received the Northeast Voice in the mail. This newsletter services York neighbourhood as well as neighbourhoods north of us. Both Steele Heights and McLeod Community Leagues participate in this publication. By moving to this format we hope to reach you more regularly with all of the items happening in the neighbourhood.
Are you interested in helping with the newsletter? We are currently looking for a Newsletter Editor to oversee our contributions to the paper. Contact the League if interested.

Our neighbourhood is working with the City of Edmonton to plan a Spray Deck for York Park. The project preliminary concept include a water play area, walking trails to connect to surrounding walkways, decorative trees, tables, benches, and a central shade feature such as a pergola or gazebo. Our goal is installation in 2015-16 and have volunteers lined up to help with the planning. As the League will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2017 (as well as Canada's 150th Anniversary) this project will be a great gift to the community during our Golden Jubilee celebrations.
